The extension to this church makes use of timber frame construction with timber cladding and joinery, organic paints and natural fibre carpets. The design uses the font as a focal point to align the roof light and main entrance with the over-sailing roof.
This large extension to a listed church aims to add significantly to the accommodation and facilities. The design is modern in concept, respecting the integrity of the existing building whilst making a clear statement on this prominent site.
The existing village hall had serious structural problems and a study concluded in favour of a new build. The new hall can be subdivided to give flexibility in use and offers modern facilities and full accessibility. The brick front retains the stone cross from the original school.
On a sensitive wildlife site in North Norfolk, this new ternery hut is an ecologically sound design, using high levels of recycled newspaper and sheep’s wool insulation. Solar panels generate electricity, and the mono-pitched roof aims to provide additional wildlife habitat.
